On 2 May 2024, in Dubai, Gianesini was invited to deliver the opening honorary lecture of the 2nd international congress of the Emirates Vascular Surgery Society. The topic included a description of the educational and scientific synergy established from the v-WINter DUBAI meeting chaired by Gianesini himself in 2022. This was followed by an examination of which treatments are appropriate for the management of varicose veins and thrombotic disease according to scientific evidence.
