On 18 April, Gianesini was invited by the Iraqi Society of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery as guest of honour. On that occasion he delivered a Lecture on the international projects he has developed in the scientific and educational venous and lymphatic field, within the World Union of Phlebology which he chairs and the venous-lymphatic World International Network foundation of which he is a founding member.
