On 8 May, Gianesini was invited by the Romanian Society of Phlebology to deliver an honorary lecture on the correct use of veno-active drugs in the treatment of varicose veins. Gianesini stressed the importance of using only scientifically validated products, following assessment by a specialist. Indeed, too many products on the market claim benefits not reported in the literature, thereby exposing patients to the risk of inappropriate healthcare marketing.
